New Hungarian Censorship Media Bill is Direct Assault on Media Freedom and Totalitarian Threat to Democracy

The European Federation of Journalists calls the bill “a restrictive measure that limits freedom of opinion and freedom of speech. It does not meet European standards of diversity and and plurality and turns the clock back to a time when Hungary lived under communism and the shadow of state control of media”.

Luxembourg Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn criticised the move saying the European Commission must take swift action against it. “The plans clearly violate the spirit and the letter of EU treaties,” Asselborn said, adding: “It raises the question whether such a country is worthy of leading the EU.” “It’s a direct danger for democracy,“

How to Search into Wikileaks Cables ?

Ceblesearch engine have been released as an initiative of investigative reporters who want to harvest Wikileaks Cablegate documents.

Henk van Ess, chairman of the Dutch-Flemish association of investigative journalists VVOJ, developed the search tool to help journalists analyze the more than 250,000 documents released on WikiLeaks in the last days. As the name says, this new resource allows users to search the full text of the embassy cables being released by WikiLeaks.

Опълченците на Лидл – типичен пример за спонтанен литературен crowdsourcing в българския интернет

Няма спор, най-големият хит за последните два дни из родното интернет пространство е остроумната поетична пародия на Вазовите „Опълченци”,публикувана под различни заглавия като „Опълченците на Лидл”, „О Лидъл”, „Българите пред Lidl” в десетки уеб сайтове, блогове и медии. Интересно ми беше да проследя как се роди и разви този любопитен “уеб вайръл” феномен, който би могъл да се оприличи като типичен пример за спонтанен литературен crowdsourcing в българската уеб среда. Явно дивните сцени с истерично крещящите бабички, превърнали пазарните колички в оръжие за завземане на територия по пътя към евтините банани и краставици и разразилата се мини граждански война при откриването на хипермаркетите-дискаунтъри у нас, са събудили народния интернет гений и са развихрили творческото му въображение.

Гласуването по интернет в България ще превърне изборите в черна борса за покупкопродажба на гласове…за съжаление!

Дали няма да се окаже, че най-голяма интернет пенетрация и онлайн избирателна активност ще бъде регистрирана в ромските райони на големите градове, някои Родопски региони, части от Североизточна България и в други по-бедни и западнали селища на милата ни родина?
Уви, като че ли няма експерт по сигурността в света, който да даде рецепта срещу тази чисто „аналогова”, нашенска заплаха за манипулация на вота. Ако все пак се намери някой, който да даде приемливо решение на проблема, аз ще се подпиша с две ръце на момента за въвеждането на електронното гласуване в България!

FUTURESTATES – Project Yourself into the Future!

FUTURESTATES is a Futuristic art project developed by Independent Television Service (ITVS) who asked 11 experienced filmmakers and emerging talents to take the current state of affairs in the United States, and extrapolate them into stories of the nation in the not-so-distant future.

They created 11 short narrative films transforming today’s complex social issues into visions about what life in America will be like in decades to come. The first season of FUTURESTATES debuted in March 2010, and is available exclusively online.

С учредяването си Пиратската партия на България вече е член на международното Пиратско движение

Пиратска партия на България бе учредена официално днес. Идеята за създаване на такава партия съществуваше във виртуалното пространство от години, а преди няколко месеца се сформира Инициативен комитет, който свърши работата по действителното превръщане на пиратската идея в реално политическо движение. Процесът по уредяването на партията приключи с Учредителния форум в София, на който делегати от около 20 града на България приеха Устав, Програма и избраха Национално ръководство на Пиратската партия.

И тази година Програма Достъп до Информация и Интернет общество – България ще присъдят традиционните анти-награди “Големият брат” на държавни институции, компании и личности, които са нарушили или нарушават правото на лична неприкосновеност и защитата на личните данни на гражданите. Срокът за приемане на предложенията за номинации е 31 март, 2010 г.!
